Abstract:

This talk introduces first year CS students to Human Robot Interaction, a field that explores how people perceive, respond to, and collaborate with robots. Through examples ranging from assistive devices to social robots in education and therapy, we will look at how design choices shape human behavior, trust, and engagement. The session highlights why people attribute agency and intention to machines, how embodiment influences compliance, and what these cognitive effects mean for building responsible and effective robotic <a href="http://systems.
