Seminar: Silicon photonic periodic structures for communications, signal processing, and quantum technologies
May 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This Friday at 10 am, Professor José Manuel Luque-González of the University of Málaga will be giving a talk on Silicon photonic periodic structures for communications, signal processing, and quantum technologies. This talk will be held at Bonaventure, and all from both Varennes and Bonaventure are welcome to attend. See below for a summary of the talk. Snacks and coffee will be <a href="http://provided.

Summary of the talk:
Silicon photonics has emerged as a key platform for integrated optical systems, offering compact, high-performance, and scalable solutions. Among its fundamental building blocks, periodic grating structures play a pivotal role in controlling light propagation. They enable the engineering of refractive index, anisotropy, and dispersion, as well as providing essential functionalities such as filtering and beam radiation. This talk will present a design methodology based on periodic structures for achieving spectrally tailorable optical systems with optimized footprints and polarization insensitivity ready for practical <a href="http://applications.
